Ashley Powers is a multi-genre vocalist, instrumentalist, bandleader, and music director. Ashley is a sought after soprano who performs as both a chorister and soloist in the acclaimed Handel Choir of Baltimore, with appearances across the city including on the Meyerhoff and Strathmore stages with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Notably, in 2023 she was a part of the choir premiering the HEROES symphony with the Baltimore Symphony, under the baton of Grammy nominee Patrick Dupré Quigley (Seraphic Fire.)

From Baroque and Renaissance through modern day, Ashley studied jazz and pop vocal performance at Palm Beach Atlantic University with a piano secondary. She continued her music education at Berklee College of Music in Boston as well as with Carol Westcott of the Voice Within Studio in Baltimore, and is as comfortable singing polyphony of the 1400s as rock music of the 2000s and today’s top 40.

Ashley performs in Baltimore, D.C., and beyond as a jazz and pop vocalist and pianist, as well as a soprano in sacred and secular settings, and may be found weekly appearing live in popular entertainment spaces, churches, recital halls, and restaurants.

Ashley has been a music director for over a decade and has conducted choirs and a cappella ensembles, led praise and Christian rock bands, and performed for hundreds of church weddings, funerals, and baptisms. Ashley is currently the Director of Music and Choirmaster at The Catholic Community of South Baltimore.

Ashley is available to be booked as a solo artist, or as a bandleader with a duo, trio, quartet, full band, ensemble, or a cappella group for public engagements, private events, and all of life’s moments that are made sweeter by live music (hint - that’s everything!)
